I am looking for a number of Labradors and ESS to be trained for detection work. Male or female from 10-18 months, must be very strong retrievers, prefer from working lines, with KC registration.
good prices paid.

Please contact Alan Tadd on 0772 0400851 or email thorsecuk@btinternet.com Thank you

Last time when a police force (I think) wanted new canine recruits they appealed in the weekly dog papers. Would probably be advisable to add what they would be detecting and where

Why do they need to be KC registered?

Why not Isabel?
Is it a crime to want KC reg papers when you are paying top wack for the dogs? I don't think so :-) Breeders and trainers sometimes run on dogs and then find they are no good for what they intended. Maybe they might suit the job of work that Alan has in mind :-)

Aaah I see! I must say I sometimes wish my two would go out and get a job :D but I'm not sure mine detection is a career I would choose for them  ;)

10-18 months old AND KC registered? Hmmm. That's hard to fill from people who raise puppies. Usually they're long in their homes by then.
Are you looking for Drug or Bomb detector training? Just curious, since neither really requires size or specific pedigree to do the job. Beagles are being used in many airports to detect "contraband" for customs. :)

I know in the US, police get their dogs from several sources: Shelters are usually the best place to locate dogs, since many people give up their dogs around a year old due to behavioral problems. 1 out of 4 dogs in the shelters are large breed purebreds with AKC papers. Ex guide school dogs are another source.
good luck (I think)
toodles
