Last year I could type my affix or part of my dogs name in a search engine & my website would be listed within the results.
My domain name was a .com & ran out in December (i thought i had another year) but anyways the emails to remind me must of ended up in my junk mail box & the card details that the company who registered the .com domain name had were out of date as I'd bought the name 4 years ago.

Anyways I registered a .co.uk domain with my Host (who was not the same company as the .com was registered with) & now I have been able to re-register .com with my Host, again it's not with the previous company as I just want to keep everything together so no payments get missed.

My problem now is that when I google my dog's name or my affix it doesn't come up with my website and i don't know how to change it so that it comes up on seach engine's.

Anybody out there a web wizzard & know if i need to change some settings?
Thanks :)

Depends upon who you are with, sometimes you have to pay to get your name high up on the list when searching.

The search only comes back with 2 pages when I search by dogs name & they are just results from fosse etc where as last year it was my website that was first in the searc then it was the results. Hmmmm strange!

I've sent a query to my Host to see if they are mapping (probably not the correct term) the domains correctly. :)

How long ago did you get a website up using the .co.uk? It takes a while for Google to find it. Also, yes, depends on the hosting company - are the website files hosted by the same people that you got the domain from or does the domain company forward the .co.uk to files that are physically held somewhere else?

Yep I host my site with the same company that I have the domains with, Webeden is the company.
The .co.uk was registered on 29th Feb 2010 and I was only able to get .com re-registered today.

Then it looks like it's just a case of being patient I should think. It can take a couple of months to start showing up.

Have you entered the website to the search engines yourself? I always do with all the ones I maintain.
