Does anyone have one? Would you recommend them or not?
What sort of prices do they run at?

I have just emailed for a quote but have never heard of them so am asking for opinions/experiences of them before I commit to them!

Am not on the mainland and so cannot go to see them in the flesh.

I have one and not only is it a fantastic crate but the service is first class.

I made my initial enquiry way back in September last year but due to a whole host of reasons was unable to continue with my purchase at the time. I must have sent the owner 15-20 e-mails asking a huge number of questions and each and every one was replied to promptly and politely. My main concern was an adaptation to my car that had been made by a previous owner thus making the measurements not so straight forward. Dave, the company owner, sent me a template to try in the back of my car to make sure the fit was okay before I went ahead and purchased the crate - he also agreed that if the crate did not fit he would refund my money as long as the crate was returned within the week.

When it arrived it fitted like a glove and is 100% rattle free and very good quality. I have two doors, two rear escape hatches, lockable catches and lead hooks as well. The crate is 40 inches wide, 34" tall and is fully collapsible - with delivery it cost me about £380 and was well worth the money.

Barnesbrook definitely gets my vote :-)

ETA - if you pm me I can send you a photo of the crate so you can "see" it.

Ooh that sounds promising :)

My car is a slightly weird shape, and I was wondering about getting something to fit :)

Do you have any piccies of your crate at all please?

I have sent you a photo via private message as we aren't allowed to put photos up on the forums - hope it helps :-)

Got it thank you :) I'm pretty sure I will be ordering a crate at some point in the future from them :)

Oh not heard of them, we have guardsman cages in the van, very pleased with them but pricey.

Dave makes excellent car cages. Same quality as Barjo but cheaper and shorter lead times. He has made bespoke cages for me for three cars and they have been truly excellent; they are not called the silent traveller for nothing. I do upwards of 40,000 miles per annum so silence is essential.  The advantage of his designs is that if you have a vehicle with a small opening at the back you can unfold them once they are in so maximising width and headroom.  They are also easy to move and because they fold can be stored away if necessary.  Dave will also put on hooks for you for your leads etc.
