Hi guys

My shih tzu went for a groom three months ago and seems to have had all off her under coat stripped out and doesnt seem to be comming back at all and her coat now looks really scraggy and very very thin and limp?  is there anything i can do or will it ever come back?

When you say stripped out do you mean that the undercoat was removed as they should not be stripped ? If it was stripped this could be the reason for the thin coat ?

might be some medical condition though any other symptoms ?

my breed has a double coat , I remove undercoat that is coming out but its back within days.

im not sure now lol when she went her coat was lovely and thick and really fluffy and i just removed the dead undercoat but no its so so so thin when she came back from the groomers, its only the top thin hair left.  I took her to the vets and there is nothing medically wrong with her

dont worry it should come back in no time.. go ask the groomer what they have done ..

Her coat would be thick if it was full of undercoat and once it is taken away it would be thinner.
How old is your dog?
has it been done by a groomer before ?

I have some lhasas that are thin coated and some that are thicker and have groomed some that had thin coats but as they get older their coats have thickened up.

Was she clipped at the groomers ?
