My mum has just went and reserved a Blue staffy bitch and she named her Peggy!!!
Her old staff got put down last year and she feels she would like another dog in her life! My pug puppy is going to be so happy at this arrival! Even thought she KC reg she isnt going to show her she just wants a her for company and being part of the family, shes getting her dressed as soon as she is able to.
shes lovely blue silver colour with a white chest and a stripe of white on her head!
Just cant wait to meet up with my mum for walks when she is old enough, My pug will love.
Peggy and Angus, like an old married couple hahaha
> shes getting her dressed as soon as she is able to.
:) Hi, just curious - what does the above expression mean? I'm assuming it's not about clothes (!) but it's not a term I'm familiar with
Peggy is a cute name
One of my nephews got a blue Stafford bitch pup not so long ago, the first Staff in the whole family, we're mainly gundog, hound, utility and pastoral breeds, (we're almost everything actually :-D) so this was a real biggy for us and a real change to have a Staff coming in to socialise with all the other dogs, she was gorgeous and won us all over, lovely dog, so if your mum's pup is as lovely you won't go wrong, though watch she isn't too full on with your Pug make sure that you supervise play. :-)
I'm assuming it's not about clothes
Now that would be funny to see, correct me if I'm wrong but I think it is more of an American term to say dressed rather than spayed. :-)

Thank you Carrington - I went through 31 definitions of the word
dress here and still didn't find it !!
... it's an odd term considering that they use the same expression to describe the preparation of a turkey (ouch)
sorry i mean spayed!! haha i have always said dressed! Woops.
Yeh i will be watching them play, dont worry my OH would kill me if his 'little man' got hurt lol. My mum had a staff boy for 12 years and he was a complete nightmare with other dogs, even though he was socialised and all that from a young age. He just disliked other dogs.
Hopefully the wee bitch will be nicer! I will try and see her as much as poss with my lab and pug just to keep her used to other dogs shes also going to puppy partys and classes so it all should be ok.
Thanks ;-)

Sounds like a good plan :) I think Carrington was talking about the difference in play style between staffy & pug, the staffy will be a lot rougher & more 'full on' in it's play than the pug, so supervision needed just to keep things safe & friendly and to stop pug feeling overwhelmed :)

dressed I thought that was from taliors asking a man how he dressed , I can see the connection LOL
my pug puppy is very full on. Hes a nightmare just now hes fearless! Since the pup is half the size of him i will have to watch he doesnt hurt her just now! Ha

This made me smile Scotgal- I am originally from Glasgow and bitches always went to be "dressed" and dogs to be "done"
When I first moved to Yorkshire my then 3 year old daughter asked a lady if she could "clap" her dog- I have never forgotten the confusion on the ladies face. (Clap means stroke!)
I still love when I hear phrases I haven't heard for ages...
Ha!!
Well my mum is from Glasgow (now lives in Dundee for the past 30 years) but she still uses alot of phrases from glasgow!
So i suppose i just pick up little things from her!

Don't think that it's a specifically Glasgow term , maybe just Scottish as my dad has always used the term 'dressed' and we're in the NE.
Im the NE to. I actually hear alot of people saying dressed, even the vet!
Never heard the term dressed before - you live n learn eh?!!
Why dressed? I don't understand that, i thought undressed would of been better. lol
