Yep! when you see it you will see he is big like my daughters male Akita, nice thik neck. He is a beauty as far as Akita's go. There was one thing I learnt from the film. Akiti's are a one man dog. My daughters is, he loves her, she is his owner, even though he is good with the children. Get the tissues out though, good film. You can download it. You need to watch it at home as the tears drip.
That is what my daughter said, it would have been better in japan. I think she said there is also a book?

Haven't seen the film - I know it is based on a true story (bit like Greyfriars Bobby) and I've seen the statue of Hachiko outside Shibuya station in Tokyo - I don't think this is the original statue (I think it was melted down during the war and replaced afterwards) - but here is a picture of it :- http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/tokyo/shibuya_hachiko_statue.htm
Well it depends if he is a proper Japanese version (Akita Inu) or the more Mastiff type Americanised form most of us are more familiar with, which is the Akita in UK or also knows as the American Akita/Great Japanese Dog in FCI countries.
Its out March 12th i think. Saw it advertised and have asked if lovely boyfriend would like to take me to see it. Love true stories, especially when its doggy related :-)
