Hi! Great advice about the cowboy magic - mats are  just about gone - working a treat! More advice now about my Tibetin terriers fall - im concerned she cant see? and she does walk into things! Should I take her to the groomers for a fringe cut?? I do tie it up in small pony but id like to let her hair fall naturally - any advice? When adult hair grows in does it sit better? Her hair grows straight down over her eyes and trying to put into a parting is near impossible!

so glad you are pleased with the cowboy magic ''it was sent from up above'' <BG>  me personally prefer the fringe to be left to grow naturally without being cut as it spoils the look of the breed.

You can get these fab clips from a beardie person made in plastic like a bow you part the hair down the middle then lift either side of the eyes at the front and pull it  back straight then pop in the clip . You can get them smaller sizes for puppies or full size for adults in all colours for boys and girls.

Are you going to crufts as she will be there and they sell them on the beardie stall.

Other than that elastic bands with silicone on them from hub you dont remove them you cut them off when you want to replace them or two clips cris crossed .

Hi. I also own TT's and I personally think that if you aren't showing then trim her 'fall' as I don't think they can see either! In fact I know mine can't :o(
I have one of mine still in full coat from her showing day but I do trim her 'fall' regularly, and I know she is much, much happier being able to see properly. Also we went from breed showing onto obedience showing and they def. need to be able to see you to do that ;O)
She also became a lot more confidant once she was able to see everything.

Hi.  I've had TTs for over 30 years & I never recommend cutting the hair over their eyes.  They have very long eye lashes to push the hair forward to allow them to see.  The hair protects their eyes from UV light.  If you have to cut it, just shorten it so that it still falls forward over the eyes.

Your problem has been made worse by tying the hair up.  Once they are used to having their hair up it is hard for them to acclimatize to having it down.  I have a girl who I didn't own as a youngster, she came with a topknot but is now getting used to having her hair down.  She will occasionally have difficults post blow drying as she has a very heavy coat.

Find it strange how people say this about long coated dogs.  My Spanish have never had a problem but it's amazing how many people say they cant see, think it's more a psychological thing that they feel it's not right to have hair over the eyes myself in reality. 

As has been said if you are wanting to show your TT don't cut the fur but if your dog is a pet either get one of the products for putting it up or have it cut.

I do gundog trainng with one of my SPanish and even when she has it long and over her eyes she finds the dummy or whatever easily and she'll of course partially see where it has landed and hear and this is a dog who is partially sighted and it doesn't affect her in the slightest.

yes a lot of  beardie people use them. I agree pero . I do think its a pain when they are puppies as it doesnt move but once its long it seperates naturally just a case of perseverance. ..'I can see you but you cant see me'!!
I think to have it cut spoils the whole look of the breed if it is meant to be long.
