my fella is in Singapore working for a couple of weeks
however we have just moved house last week and the phone was supposed to be connected on friday last week..
well it wasnt...and as its in his name he needs to speak to BT but cant as its an 08 number
so does anyone have a normal number he can call from abroad to get it sorted?
its a long shot but hope someone has an idea.......
Thanks in advance x chellex

Go to www.bt.com - manage my account and you should be able to do it from there - or get OH to do it online from Singapore, authorising them to talk to you.

the other number is  0800 800 150
i am off work after 3pm today til thursday so wont be online at all so cant do anything my end!

The same 0800 number is listed as an alternative on sayno website. You're probably better going online as loki suggested, as I don't think free phone numbers work overseas.

Or the other method would be to get a male family member to phone, say he is OH and then authorise them to talk to you ...

Not maybe quite the right thing to do ...but there is more than one way to skin a cat ;)

BT were a real pain last year when my Mum moved. Instead ot transferring her number they gave her a new one.......and did it 3 times !. Took 3 months to sort out. I did it all over the phone with them and online - it didn't matter that I was her daughter.
They had a contract to transfer the number so really all you need to do is tell them something they already know ...... if that makes sense !.

Good Luck !.

we were with tiscali at the last house but you have to open a new account with them when you move
but they wanted us to sign an 18 month contract...which we cant do as we have no idea which country we will be in never mind which house!!
so we went with BT which as we are finding out is probably going to be a NIGHTMARE......
