Henna lost the 3rd of her proverbial 9 lives today. (The 1st two were lost when Damson picked her up, twice, and dropped her into the pond & watched her sink as a 10 week old kitten!)
Was flying Holly around the field & she appeared to have seen a rabbit so I let her go. She swooped down, talons out & yes, you've guessed it........caught Henna! I think she must have realised her mistake as she let go for a second & Henna ran into the bushes. If she had meant to kill her then she would never have got away.....large male rabbits are dead in seconds with her powerful feet. Eventually found Henna skulking miserably in the hay barn & apart from a couple of small piercings, very minor, not a mark on her. One lucky kitten!

Can you get contact lenses for birds? :)

I thought a small pocket identification book of british fauna to tuck under her wing maybe.......

You can do corneal grafts on horses, dogs, cats and rabbits, so I'm willing to try .... but I think Holly would be safer with Sam's idea :-)

That was a very lucky escape :) Thank goodness.
