Does anybody have any ideas/suggestions as to what to use as a door/dog flap leading from the kennel to the run. We have just converted a 9 x 6 summer house into a kennel with a 9 x 6 run infront but need some sort of access from one to the other! I have thought of a dog flap but having seen the price my son suggested just cutting a hole through the door without the flap. Do any of you have kennels and runs and what do you use? Suggestions please..........

Hi JJ what I have is a pop hole on a pully & its made out of some kind of metal (i wont use wood as it warps & the dogs chew it) & that is attached to metal string that runs over the top & the handle is outside & you just pull it up or down. Hope you understand what I mean, not very technical minded! :)

I used to have my Boxers in kennels and had a hatch into run with a piece of carpet hung over it to cut draughts. Mind you the little dears did pull the carpet down from time to time but at least that gave them something to do :-)

Depends if you want to exclude the dog from one area at times. If you don't, you can buy just one of those plastic strips you see at factories and the like covering doors where fork trucks and stuff go through. If you cut it up into smaller strips, you get the same thing, only smaller. They're reasonably chew resistant, and keep the draughts out.
