Got the local freebie paper today. A 2 and a half year derhound was advertised. Out of curiosity I rang up. This dog has been chained outside since puppyhood. It has never been shown or worked. Dad isa "Champion" - except that I've never heard of him. Mum doesn't even seem to have an affix. The man on the phone wasn't even embarassed. He wants a lurcher. The asking price £350. If Ian would let me I'd buy the poor brute. Why, oh why do people (well sort of people) do this to the kindest dogs in the world. GRRRRR!!!!

Thats great news, the poor little soul will think all her birthdays have come together.

Of course the worst bit about paying the *ransom* to release this poor baby is that it will probably fund the original owners ambition to replace her with a Lurcher! :(
