Not sure if this may come under health or breeding so settled for general :-)
Just got my copy of 'your dog' magazine. full page advert inside front cover, main gist says
'ask your vet for alternatives to surgery for dog and cat reproductive or hormonal issues'  ad is by 'Virbac - makers of Superlorin, ypozane,alizin and ovaraid.'
first thoughts are perhaps vets may slow down on recommending the snip if people know and ask about these or will the snip still be the answer for everything with some.

Probably, and it's not just vets....the local dog club I have been going to for 14 years always recommends spaying and neutering, and heard them telling people 6 months for castration, it is just the norm with them.  I think my boys are the only entire dogs there ever!
