Quite disgusting but I thought if anyone can help then you CD'ers would!

A friend has recently moved into a new house to find the garden COVERED in dog mess. It's gone beyond picking up but is really quite awful. The council won't help as she's a home owner.

Is there anything she can buy to put on it and break it up or make it safe? She's not worried about saving the grass or anything but would like to have a useable gaden without having to totally remove the top layer of soil.

Thanks in advance x

how terrible for your friend. Maybe a friendly word with the environmental health dept may help. They might have an idea of new products available.

Depending on the size of the garden, I think I'd cut and turn over the turves and turds and lay new turf on top of the exposed soi surface. The other thing you could do--more destructive--is to blowtorch the ground and then returf if she is a big lawn fan.

yuk I would hire a mini digger and turn it over and start again.
