Topic Dog Boards / Health / Silent Seasons?

One of my Golden Retriever bitches appears to be having silent season. I have no previous experience of silent seasons, but suspected she may have had one last time (in July 09) as my other two bitches both came into season and she looked as though she was going to come into season, but no bleeding. If she is in season now, it is her third and she is two next month. Her first season at age 11 months was a 'proper' one, eg. she bled.

She now has a very swollen vulva and is very clingy. She has also started soiling in the house at night, which is not at all like her. Otherwise she is completely normal, eating, drinking normally etc and she does ask to go out to toilet in the day. (I wonder if she is also asking at night, but we are asleep, so don't hear her)

Does it sound like a silent season? Also, has anyone had a bitch toileting during a season? I will be discussing spaying with my vet shortly, as I think this is best in her case as she clearly isn't happy.

Thankyou.

Bitches do tend to wee more during a season.  But worth getting the vet to see her in case it's a UTI.

Sorry, I maybe wasn't clear in my post. She isn't weeing in the house at all, she is pooing. She hasn't got the runs.
