Topic Other Boards / Foo / Inducing labor (UPDATE)

Just wanted to say thank to all who replied. DD was to go in Sunday 24th Jan to be induced...wee thing had other ideas and her labor started on its own and she coped wonderfully well considering. Unfortunately for her she did not progress and needed a C-section after about 18 hours of laboring. Baby boy born this morning at 155am...weighing in at a HEFTY 9.9lbs...53 cm long. And he kinda looks like a bulldog...:-) Fat cheeks and a tiny chin....Mom and baby doing as well as can be expected. And I was so chuffed to be with her through it all and my reward was to hold him first before even his mother...:-)

Cheers
TIRED GRANNY

That is just what my son weighed and measured.

He's so tall and skinny now.

Having had two children that weight and getting very stressed with he first over this, you need to remember that being this big they may not gain the ounce a day that is usual, but more like 3 or 4 ounces a week, until they reach the percentile level that they were destined to be.

My son was big for age and with a slowish gain got to the 50 percentile line and then continued along that line for the rest of his baby measuring/weighing time.

My daughter who was 9lb 10oz also gained slowly for first few weeks staying way above any of the jpercentile lines and once she hit somewhere between the top lien she continued her growth at that rate.

She is calling him Kye Ian Campbell. He is doing well...but as she is diabetic he has to get his glucose levels checked. Hav to say he is a very dark red....not pink like most babies. It isn't unattractive or anything but I just have never seen one who stayed such a deep shade before. Docs say it was because he was a C-section...

But if anyone wants to see him he is on Facebook already...:-)
