My water supply is frozen from the natural spring! Not a lot I can do but wait for it to thaw!

Is bottled water safe for my dogs to drink? I know it sounds odd but I don't want to give them anything which might upset their tummies

yes, 2 years ago we were without tap water for three weeks, the only water we were given was bottled.

Could you not just melt some snow for them?

Unless they've got desperately sensitive stomachs I'm sure it will be fine for them.

Shouldn't bottled be cleaner and more trustworthy than tap water?

Our water is also from our spring, luckily not frozen.  When we go to shows with the caravan I would only ever use bottled water for the dogs and us, it's nearly as nice as ours!  Wouldn't dream of using the stuff that comes out of the stand pipe type of things apart from the washing up and our shower and loo.

Oh god - what a nightmare! The plumber has visited and has said it is so badly frozen that it could be a matter of weeks before it resolves!

Well, looks like the dogs will be on bottled water. I don't really have a choice!

Not sure I would use the snow for drinking but I've collected some in buckets to melt down and use in the toilet.

You don't realise how much of a luxury running water actually is!

Might be a bit of a faff but you could boil the melted snow (just in case).

I can relate to you.. Pipes are frozen here for over a week now and no thawing in sight. I have to trek over untreated icy country roads in my ickle van to get water for the dogs, the HORSES!! and myself.. I tried the snow melting thingy but there isn't enough snow here, its rock solid and like stone..

Yep I do!!  Was without water for 4 weeks after floods a couple of years ago.  Not being able to just jump in the shower or have a bath, was a nightmare.

I was using 5lit a day of bottled water just for the dogs.  My vet reckons you get less teeth discolouration with bottled.  Trouble with mine is, they only want Evian now.  :-)

Seriously though, I never want to have to do without water again.  It was a total nightmare that I thought would never end.  I wouldn't wish flooding on anyone.

we always use bottled for our dogs if we go out of our area stops any upset tummies .

yes we always use bottled water for the dogs if we go away, especially abroad. bottled water is fine for them, this weather is a nightmare now, it is not fun with dogs to clean and look after.
