Help! My microwave died last night (ancient!) but I'd like to replace it with a combination micro. Would prefer stainless, but not essential and want a decent capacity. Recommendations gratefully received - not too extortionate please, washing machine has died too (see other post :()

Many thanks :)

Don't get LG, ok mine is just a microwave but it was bought brand new & died after 10 months of being used just once or twice a day (Mainly to cook the cat's fish!).  I threw away an ancient huge microwave that had been going 10+ years after getting the LG, big mistake.

I have a Panasonic that I have had for over 10 years. I haven't had any problems and use it regularly as my real oven hasn't worked for about 6 years  ;-)

I also bought a Panasonic - similar to this one http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/misc/visual_enlarge_product_popup.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1445348035.1262978157@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccgadejfjjdhefcflgceggdhhmdfho.0&ip=%2fstore_doc%2fimages%2f&pnm=PANASONIC+NN-A554W+Combination+Microwave&pid=790361&service_name=Currys&view=FO

I've had it now for 7 years and I love it, I use it all the time.  Only time I use my big oven is when I have people round or for baking.

Another vote for Panasonic.  When we bought ours last year this was the brand I heard the best things about.  All the people I spoke to, that had a Panasonic, said they'd buy the same one again which is a pretty clear vote of confidence.

Mine has a slighty different number but this one looks like the same model.

I can't say much about the combo bit as I tend to use mine for microwave only so havent really learnt the full functions yet but my MIL uses it when she is here and says it's the best she's seen! :)
