Has anyone got one...... I have brought myself today an external hard drive for the computer to back up my files....pictures etc, so wish me luck.
Its a 1tb that approx 1000GB of memory (sounds  lot so here we go)

Will report back on my progress.....should be plug and play. so it says on the box

I've got one already, had it a couple of years now, but had an e-mail today from Maplin they have a Seagate Ext Hard drive, 1TB £69.99 so will go out and get one of those on Monday, having had a few ext hard drives over the years on different computers have found Seagate to be the most reliable.

Got mine same as your email for £75 from Argos with a "free" 4gb Flashdrive. It was so easy to set up.

I need a new harddrive because my memory is running out on my mac - are they compatible for macs and whats the best one to get?

They are compatible with Mac's as my daughter has one with hers.

I bought one some while ago - on the recommendation of some CDers.  It is so easy to use - however it took me a while to learn how to copy my photos over - I ended up sorting them one at a time until I realised that if I had folders already I could just highlight the lot and move them straight to the folder.  I copied thousands of photos over from the computer my hubby uses - I don't know how he has them filed but it didn't copy them over in files - just individual photos.  Took me hours to sort - I was making up a photobook to show the progression of our house build for Christmas - I was very pleased with the Jessop's software and the book - it was easy to use and so easy to just send off.

It's really worth spending time filing and sorting your stuff in Windows Explorer first.  Makes moving and copying so much easier.

Have fun

I have one external hard drive just for music and another to back it up.  Not that I'm paranoid or anything...   !!   :)

Thats exactly what I've done, got all my photos back to 1999 on an ext hard drive, then bought another to back it up, just in case.......and yes I am paranoid....lol.
