- By Otterhound Date 23.12.09 17:44 UTC
Obviously not :(. Now they start dumping them BEFORE Xmas. An ickle black Labrador pup was dumped at my gate today. I was home!! Yet, they choose to leave him at my gate in a chicken wire cage. He looks purebred to me and is in good nick, no chip obviously. Feck them, I am sick of it!!!

Thank doG you're there !

If it weren't for people like you what would happen to these poor little mites?
Those of us who just chuck money at rescues owe a huge debt of gratitude to you and those like you...........

Thank you :-)

Hear, hear!    You're a star Otterhound, we all know you don't expect or want praise, but sometimes it 's nice to give it !

Best wishes

That is SO sad, I picked up a Lab pup on Saturday, and could never ever dump any of my animals.

They need hanging!

Otterhound the people are dispicable. Did nobody see the person leave it. I hope whoever it was has a guilty conscience. Poor wee soul. Good job there are folk like you with a heart cos they sure have not.

No, I live in the middle of nowhere and it was the first time that someone dumped a dog at my gate. But it is VERY cold here at present and to dump him in a wire cage not sure when he would be found is truly disgusting. Thankfully the little guy has a powerful pair of lungs ;).

my nan and grandad until recently owned a pet shop and garden centre.they sold fish hamsters the little animals and mainly pet food bedding and and plants ect not kittens or puppies,BUT on opening up one JANUARY morning we found out in the rain a soft soaking wet cat bed full of kittens.bout 4 weeks old.
nan took em in fed em washed em and done everything she could for them.
she went into the pet shop after feeding them and wrapping them all up in the fleeced jacket she was wearing that day when about to throw the bed out it was still a little heavy.she took off the bed inside the bed(im sure you know the ones i mean) we found FIVE  more kittens all around two weeks old.and amazingly alive.
i had just moved into my new home and had the time on my hands and offered to take the babies.nan is 73 now and its too much to expect her to try and raise all these babies.
we didnt lose not one.it was hell at night cos i had a puppy as well!!! but we kept all these babies nan has her four still with her my mum has two of mine i raised and my sister has two.one went to my neighbour who helped me when all these babies were crying for theyre bottles.she wanted her babie right from the start.

sad story that ends well because of kind hearted devoted people.
just like you!!!!!!!!

people will dump anything, out of sight out of mind.they really get to me i dont know how they think its the right thing, well clearly they couldnt give two hoots.
good on you at least he was lucky to find you.x

I couldn't edit my last post anymore, it was supposed to read that he wasn't the first dog/animal to be dumped at my gate. I've had dogs, kittens/cats, a sheep (!!), roosters and a hamster...
