i think most of you already had some last week while all we got here was icey patchies on the floor well tonight right now its snowing thick and fast snow on the ground and its been raining all day so when the sleat first came down i thought it would not settle as the ground was really wet , but heck its now thick snow coming down cant wait to take the dogs out in it, ;-)

I think we are fated :( last week our wedding anniversary meal on a steam train in Sussex was cancelled as it is a bit remote and they were worried about us getting snowed in. I rebooked it for tomorrow and as I look out the window I can't see very far due to the thick white  snow (well patchey yellowing due to the dogs!) so will probably be cancelled again!! Last year we celebrated in Barbados, what difference a year makes!!!

Oh no was that on the bluebell railway Sawheaties?

That is a bit remote..A colleague came through there on his way into work he said it was raining there then and 6 miles north it was snowing hard... So who knows what pockets the snow will come down in.

Yep the Bluebell, I decided on that to be a bit nostalgic as we used to go at Christmas with the children, always got lost, had a row and arrived with minutes to spare :( However,in the grand scheme of things it's not important. Just had a call from son's bosses wife to ask if he had arrived home yet as they were stuck in traffic and he got out to walk. Knowing that he could get lost walking round the block (takes after me!) and left several hours ago I am now a worried Mum. Why don't they ever answer their mobiles??

know what you mean Karen. My OH's mobile always seems to be on voicemail & three times today I tried to contact my mum to make sure she was ok & the answerphone picked up. I was just about to contact my brother who lives nearer to her when I tried again & she answered. She had been in ALL DAY, telly & radio were off but she still had  not heard the phone in a small bungalow, now I know she's gone almost deaf (she denies it) but WILL NOT keep her hearing aids in! Will have to buy her a phone amplifier after Christmas.

Just spent about three hours phoning our electrician who was chasing a power failure at home, he left his mobile in the truck!
