Has anyone tried one of these low fat fryers. there seems to be mixed reviews. They just use teaspoon of oil to cook chips but supposed to be more healthy
Thanks

I think they are fantastic.
We make wonderful chips, its lovely for chilli, takes a little longer but when you wait for the oil to heatup in a deep fat fryer it isnt that much longer.

Do you think they are worth the money £109 in Argos. Hubbie wants a deep fat fryer but with his cholesterol and amount of chips he likes...no chance. We have McCain oven chips usually but I find these a bit bland really. Not sure whether to justify the cost. have googled so many reviews and it seems split really.

I use an oil spray (with olive oil) to lightly coat chipped potatoes and then bung them in the oven for about 25mins. Delicious and much more healthy than frying. Not to mention much cheaper than the Tefal thingy. I bought the oil sprayer for a few quid off ebay but I'm sure you could pick them up anywhere that sells kitchen utensils.

Another fan here, not just for chips (every kind) but does great sausages & chicken portions.

Sounds good. Just need to convince OH now :-)
Well I bought one from Argos yesterday and couldn't wait to try it but I only had new potatoes in the fridge. I cut them up and chose vegetable oil rather than olive oil but have to say I was disappointed with the results. Soggy blistered looking chips! Was that because I used new potatoes? :(
If it stops snowing I'll get out and buy some chipping potatoes today but if I can't do better than this, then it'll be going back.......
