Hi, my bitch is on day 59 and doesnt seem to be showing any signs of whelping.

She started loseing fluid and mucas at the weekend but then it all stopped, she is eating like a pig and sleeping load, but not scratching up at all, puppies dont seem to be as active now as they have been but she seems to be growing bigger by the day.

All she seems to want to do is be with me wherever i am,

Is this normal for a bitch at this late stage?
Any advise welcome
Thanx

yes completely normal, some dont show any signs and then before you know it they are having contractions.

She wants to be with you because she knows it is close, so dont leave her alone now they could arrive at anytime.

I have had a couple of girls lose the mucas for days before any signs of real labour.

Good luck

Oh thankyou MandyC, u have put my mind at ease a little bit, its hard not knowing when it will be and i think she knows im running round after her and she's loving it.
Just want to know all is ok,
Is it ok that the puppies arent moving as much now?

Are you taking her temperature at least twice each day at the same time to monitor progress?

puppies often go quiet as the birth approaches, ready for their big journey.

Your girl with be enjoying you fussing over her, they are not silly at all are they :)  Keep spoiling her...she deserves it

It's very useful to track progress and an even better guide if something is going wrong.

I never take the temperature.  In my experience pups go quiet 3 to 4 days before, always say they are getting into position for the birth.  My girl was four days late and that was a nightmare LOL!  She was losing slight discharge for 3 days before birth.
