I have 36 tins Renal Diet dog food that I no longer need. I would like to donate it to any rescue that uses this type of food or anyone who would like it. Any suggestions about how to find such organisations?

Do you not have a rescue kennels locally that you could phone just to see if they have a dog on the same food/similar food.
Where abouts are you?
I am in Witham, Essex. I tried one locally but they weren't really interested, as its a special diet. I suppose they would put down dogs with renal failure and not try to rehome them? I hoped that there may be a rescue out there that takes in dogs that cannot be rehomed due to ill health that may be happy to receive some free food.

What about asking at your Vets to see if they could put you in touch with someone who uses it, then asking them to make a donation to the rescue of your choice. I did this with some prescription food, and my Vet's passed my tel no on to one of their customers and they rang me the same day and were delighted with their 'bargain'.

Hi
Try contacting either the Oldies Club or Tailends i'm sure one of them could make use of it.

how about your local PDSA animal hospital? they would deal with renal failure dogs who are beloved pets.
You could ask your vets if they have a client in difficulty...and offer them the food. It could help someone out so close to Christmas..:-)
Thank you all so much.
Great suggestions all of them. I wish I had asked earlier! I will work my way through them and hopefully someone will be happy to take it.

Back in the summer our local Makro were having a refurb and they had cases of Felix cat food, 24 cans, for £1, we bought 10 cases and gave it to the Bristol Cats and Dogs home, I'm sure there has to be some place like that that will take it off your hands.
