Hi. I have an 11day old pup and he has yellowy browny slighty runny stool. I have only noticed this today he is the runt of the litter and is putting on weight daily- not as much as others but around 9-10% a day. Is this normal? I am worming them at 2weeks could I do this at 12 days instead on this little one? I'm worrying myself! Ta!

Has mum had anything different to eat that may have passed through her milk?  I know when one of my girls had tripe, her pups had upset tummies, so I stopped feeding it to mum until they were around 3 weeks old and they were fine.

Food has been changed to puppy pedigree chicken and rice as it only thing she will eat now! Donu think the pups will be ok with the alight runs? I'm panicing I found vets they said make sure they are nursing which they are quiete happily just the poo really

They do have a yellowy consistency and it is very soft, not diarrhoea of course but it's not solid like you would see in an adult.

My pups Poo was very formed and brown for the first week then changed to yellowish, alot softer almost yogurt consistency and slightly grainy.  There was no change to mums food at all and after speaking to vets and reading lots of old posts on here I came to the conclusion
that it is very common at this stage and could possibly be to do with mums milk becoming a lot richer around this time.  I wormed them at 14 days and they have all been perfectly fine since.

Ye their stools were very formed for first few days which is why I started worrying when I was holding one pup and yellow soft stool came out!! I'm so glad to hear this can happen. I'm going to try and not to keep worrying but with first litter and with my breed mentor no more because she had family issues I'm worrying about everything with no reassurance of anyone it's kind of scary and I'm praticaly have my own room And phone number at the vets! Sorry if I sound slighty like a worry wart lol !

It is my first litter too.  One of my pups were already on antibiotics after the dew claw site was red and not healing as well so I knew when the poo's went like like that after a week that anti B's were not going to make a difference.  I had some prokolin in the house which I tried and made no difference either so as they were well and putting on weight I just put it down to what the vet and other breeders said on here.  Worming was definitely the turning point though.  I always worry too and was beside my self when I wormed them as there have been some problems in our breed after worming puppies so I would never have wormed them any earlier than reccomended.

Cheers ye I will wait till the are two weeks to worm it's just that 3pups were born 25th november evening and others born evening of 26th (3were stuck even though holly showed no signs of straining) so best to worm them in different days? They haven't opened their eyes yet either but going to give  that till day 15-16 before going to vets?

you will be able to worm on same day that will be fine ,eyes can take awhile to open if the room is lighter then it should be ..

All pups are doing great (touch wood) all their poos are slighty yellow yogurt consistancy but they all all putting on weight suckling like mad have opened their eyes and walking like drunks lol I've decided to keep the first born as he is the runt and we had to help him out and help him breath when he was born.  The biggest boy is going to my mother in law ! I'm hoping that I'm slighty out the wood more with them bring that little older lol they are urinating on their own now which is making one hell of a mess in their whelping box so will be adding space to if this week and hopfilly they will venture out n pee there and not in the sleeping box so much. His add ur little ones doing whitelilly?
