I should think they need to be tight at the ankle...wouldn't want them falling off while you fly through the air!! ;) ;)
You thinking of helping Santa with his workload this year then?

I will give you a sensible answer which is yes unusual for me :-p

They are the best boots I have ever owned. They are quite a generous size also round the calves. The leather is very durable and so helps with movement and overall are very comforable and have two pair of boots and a pair of shoes but intend on adding to my collection !

Nana they have to wear boots especially in the Autumn as we have delicate flies that need a bit of help although Gordon Brown and his friends would say otherwise with Global warming they would sayput a pair of socks on , whoops sorry that is what they are saying to our Pensioners in winter ;-)

I had a pair of sandals that were amazingly comfy but the boots I had, I gave away as they were too tight.  I have wide feet and a high instep and found that there wasn't enough room on the top of them to wear for long periods of time as my feet went numb.  They were wide at the ankle and calf if that is where you need room.
