been through lots of things now use warm damp cloth wrung out and occasionally spray with leather protector. Upholsterer reckons warm damp cloth is enough I just feel better with leather protector.

OH and i are currently re decorating the whole house. For the time being we have to put up with the old dirty cream(ish) leather sofa. Problem is it is so grubby so at the weekend we used baby wipes to clean it up. My god, we went from having a dull looking off creamy grey coloured sofa to a fresh shiny looking cream sofa. The baby wipes took away the dirt and must have conditioned the leather so much. With all the scrubbing you could see the oil and soap foaming from the wipes :-)  Had we been keeping the sofa we would have put some leater balm on it, but dont see the point when we will be getting rid in the new year.
Would definatly recommend the baby wipes. I was amazed :-)

I get proper leather wipes - They are only about £1.99 for a pack. They leave more of a film on the leather than baby wipes, work much better.

I just go over the leather sofas with the mop when I'm doing the floor, usually it's bleach or flash. It's quick and easy and doesn't seem to shorten their life at all :-D

bleach or flash!!!???? OMG nooooooo :(((((
leather needs to be treated like a "living thing" and cared for very carefully with the right leather dressing or food will last a lifetime. I have an original 1850s side saddle thats been cared for properly and the buttery leather is to die for.
