My blender has just died & I make a lot of soup but my kids will only eat it if it's pulverised (well they are only 5 & 6 so I can't blame 'em for not liking slimey lumpy leeks ;-)) just wondered if anyone could recommend a good one?
If it's just for soup then a Braun Multiquick hand blender works really well. I use mine for all soups and shakes and it has a whisk attachment too. I have one with the metal end and it also came with extra bowls. I've owned it for years and it's certainly earned it's keep in my kitchen ! :)

hmmm, didn't think of one of those. Yes I only use it for soup these days.

I use a Braun hand blender for soups too, doesn't take up much space, does the job and it's easy to clean.
Ditto Braun easy to clen as well.

I had a Braun hand blender but it developed a fault. I bougt a Tesco Value one for about £4 to tide me over and am still using it several years later! I only use it for soups as well and it does the job every bit as well as the more expensive models.
I have a tesco value one aswell, two years in and its still going strong.
Use mine for big-batch soups for the pub, 20+ portions a time :)

I use a braun hand blender too, since starting weaning the little one though I think its been a bit over used - it started off with a crackling noise then it started smoking the other day

We are asking for one for xmas so will be interested in this thread.
