Having just got our Labrador pup and been told that he requires worming every 2 weeks I started to look into what was best and frequency online - What do you recommend?
He was done after we got him with Milbemax - but I don't think i'll use that again due to remarks on this forum about it! although I have to say he showed no reaction this time it was flipping expensive from our vets!
according to the 2 week rule he is due again this friday but further to reading about others; if these drugs are upsetting their stomachs are we pumping too many chemicals into them? yes we want to keep worms away but is there not a gentle longer lasting one?
I also have horses so understand the importance of keeping them regularly wormed but what is best?
I would especially like to hear from equestrian people as I am sure all dogs and horse poo have the same attraction!
Monty is currently coming up 10 weeks.
Thanks :)

Some of the newer wormers only need monthly dosing, certainly the case with Panacur beyond weaning age.

I always use Drontal puppy suspension on mine.

I worm every 2 weeks until 12 weeks, at 6 months I worm with Panacur and then I go onto Drontal adult tablets every 3 months.

Now I worm for the third time at 11 weeks, tehn monthly to 6 months and then as with the adults two to foru times a year.
