hi,
i got up this morning and put george my pug out for his usual pee before his breakfast and he was fine,whilst he was doing his pee i went upstairs to get the children and then when i came down again he was in. He was grunting when he breathed and shaking, i gave him his breakfast and i noticed that he cannot lift his head up and it is at a tilted age, also he seems lame on one side at the front, now this happened about a month ago and the vet said that it could be his spine slipping(he has spine problem,injury)she put him on rymadel for a week and he was fine. it is exactly the same as last time,cant see it being his spine as surely it would affect the back legs not the front and as for injury,what could he poss do in two minutes of peeing, i am worried it is neurological PDE has any of you experienced this or any advice would be gratefully received

He is obviously distressed if he is grunting and shaking and can't lift his head up. Is he still like this now or was it a temporary reaction?

Agree with lucymissy.  A vet examination is needed here.  Let us know what the outcome is please.

he seems alot better now, the worse symptoms only lasted half an hour, he is still quiet and a little lopsided, he is not shaking(which is a sign with george that e is in pain)his tail is is wagging,he is booked into the vets this evening,and i have spoken to the vet and we will discuss poss referal. i can not understand why it has happened again and i am very worried,i just want to know if anyone has any ideas what this is etc, and if he was like he was this morning for longer then i would have had him at the vets sooner,but he improved in a short space of time,

It can be spine, my cavalier had this, it was almost up in his neck so only affected his front end. Could hardly move his head at all. He needed 6 weeks total cage rest then he was fine and it has never occurred again.

Perhaps you could ask your vet if it could possibly be a vestibular problem (CVD) Canine Vestibular Disease. My old boy Max had this when he was 12 years old and had similar symptoms with the head tilt. Let us know how you get on at the vets. I hope your boy will be ok. It's such a worry when our furbabies are ill. x

george is back to his normal self for a mo at least,vet reckons that he hurt himself somehow and once again on rymadel for a few days, i said if it happens again i want a referral, i do worry about him and the latest is every now and then his skin on his back twitches and contracts on its own and he goes all funny on his legs, so i will be seeing the vet about that as well as george has serious spine problems which so far have not affected him but as he is getting on now i have a bad feeling things are going to start
