I was diagnosed with it about 5/6 years ago.. and its mainly the pain that affects me.. some days are not so bad, others are killers.. I suppose I just get on with it.. I do have strong painkillers.. but only take them when pain is unbearable, since I hate the effect medication has on me.. lesser of two evils I suppose.. I dont have the chronic fatigue, that some people can get with this..
Mornings are the worst, it can take a while to get walking properly or after sitting for any length of time, especially driving.. combined with arthritis.. its not fun..
I recently bought a memory foam mattress (not the topper) a full 10" deep mattress, took a couple of weeks to get used to.. but mornings are much easier now, and able to walk further without holding onto wall, although movement is still very robotic.. excersise and physiotherapy does help..
I also get numbness/pins and needles in hands and fingers, which was quite frightening to begin with, but again, as another symptom, you get used to it, and deal with it in your own way... holding a cup of hot tea helps..(or anything hot)
