At least she will have about 8 hours (4 Each way!) resting in the cage in the car..I struggle at home to get her to rest for anywhere near that long LOL :( :( :(
After having  my vet and and top notch Ortho expert and a physio all examine,           x-ray,scan, manipulate and generally poke her about we are still no nearer to finding a definitive cause for her lameness...and she thinks there is nothing wrong at all!! Shoulder sprain is the best we can do! but at least I know her elbows/shoulders/knees and legs are all 100% clean. She had 4 second and 1 third at champ shows before she went lame and has now missed all her other shows, Oh the joys of dog ownership and showing.

My breed is scheduled at 9am on Friday so I'm up at 3am ( hardly worth it!) off at 4am and picking up a friend at 6...then 2 hours further to be there in time for MPD.
Cant even get away early as friend's bitch is in OB !

My friend had a Bernese male who had intermittent lameness during his 'formative' years, nothing was ever diagnosed and he grew out of his 'growing pains'. He went on to win a bit too :-)

Sounds like it if it is a young growing animal, it is often refered to as wandering lameness and seems to be self resolving, seems to be caused by inflamation.

We went today with our puppy 6 months and one week old and he qualified.

Well after a horrible 4 hour drive in the pouring rain, spray, wind, traffic and another one home again!! Merlot had 5th out of 5!!!

We have intermittant problems with our spaniel. One particular incident she was sooo bad the vet was convinced she'd cracked her elbow and in fact she'd got cramp!  5 or 6 hours later she was fine.  She's done it in the ring too and I've felt terrible thinking I shouldn't of taken a lame dog when she was fine when I left home!!

She's benefited from sessions of canine massage http://www.k9massage.co.uk/show.htm and was recently recommended trying "back-on-track" coat to help warm the muscles.

Well done on qualifing the pup Justme and sorry you didn't get better results after such horrible driving conditions Merlot!

I had Pano with one of my dogs, it was like the floor was hot he didn't know what foot to put down and was really lame, but he grew out of it but had to have anti inflams everytime a session kicked off.
