Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Foot Bath!

Hi all,

I want to have a 'foot wash/bath' for any visitors to come thru after the litter is born. What should I use? I have parvo-viricide so was thinking of soaking towels in a solution of that but then not sure what to lay them in? Any recommendations, ideas or suggestions would be welcome!

Buy a cheap doormat - one of the washable ones -  "water" it daily with a solution of parvo-viricide and ask visitors to "paddle" in it before they come into the house.

(If they don't want to "ruin" their shoes, then they must take their shoes off outside and jump over said mat!)

That's what we have always done.

i've just bought a pack of 100 pull on shoes from Screwfix.  they very light polythene and ideal for any size shoes - saves visitors removing their shoes.  i think they used by builders etc when walking on precious carpets.

How about a cat litter tray - it should be big enough for even the biggest feet!  They can then wipe off on a turtle mat type thing before coming inside.

I use a 20p carpet sample and soak it a couple of times each day. :)
