Zumas insurance is due for renewal on mid October, took the policy out last year when he was 15months old. In the last year we had 3 claims totalling about £1500.

I had the renewal notice this morning, Last year I paid £164 for the year, This year it is £155. it has gone DOWN :-) :-) :-)

Hurrah and 5* for Axa

Wow you are lucky, I had my renewal through, and had only one claim for one dog, and the premiums have double! :( :

So I think I will shop around for different insurance company for my other dogs, and will have to leave the one dog that I have claimed for on this policy as its a life policy :(

We are very happy as well but did not do as well as Chris:)!!

Animal friends insurance taken last year and claimed £6000...
Renewal notice came through, increase of less than £2 per month.... Which we are happy with...
They are very cheap compared to many other companies who ask for double what AFI does and this was a dog with no claims/medical problems.
So I was pretty scared of what our renewal would be and if we would have to start paying +£40 per month which is what most companies ask for a Leo.

Noora, thats great, I used to use Animal friends but my vets would moan at me as they said that the company was too slow at paying out for claims, and that I had to pay up front for any vet fees and claim the money back myself.  Which is fair enough I suppose, but I changed insurance company as thought that if I ever had a vet fee of hundreds of pounds I just would not have the 'spare' money to pay the vet and then wait for the company to pay out. :(

Insurance going down thats fantastic, hope mine does as well, its up for renewal in the next couple of months :-)

Yep we used to be with Animal Friends as well, but found out (by making a claim, last year and due to me not reading small print) that it was underwritten by E&L and it was like getting blood out of a stone getting them to pay up :-(  We're still with Animal Friends for one dog (the one we had to claim for, nobody else would take him on) but E&L are no longer the underwriters for Animal Friends so i suppose thats something.

I suppose it depends on the vet if they accept the insurance company to pay direct.
Our vet claims direct from Animal Friends and I have to say they have always settled pretty quickly(as I get a letter stating what has been paid and when).
I paid Hydrotherapy myself and claimed it back and again it came very quickly!
Also, there has been no questions in paying up and they have even paid 20 sessions of Hydro to the full(which I do not think many companies do)

We have only been with them for a year but have made quite a few claims(probably about 10) with no problems so maybe I have been lucky or maybe they have recently got more staff :)!
Or could it have been something to do with being under E&L?
