Topic Dog Boards / Health / Vaginal Discharge

Tonight, I noticed my 8 year old passed a small amount of green tinged discharge. On checking, I found another small amount of the same discharge from her vulva. Luckily, my vet is open saturday mornings so I have made an appointment for her first thing (as always, my vet was just closing when I discovered the discharge tonight!).

She was spayed aged 3 or 4. She has spayed incontinence and is on Propalin for this. Aside from the discharge, she is completely herself...eating and drinking normally, active etc etc.

My immediate thought is vaginitis probably caused through irritation from the incontinence - perhaps I have reduced the propalin too much and it's not being well controlled or a urine infection (doesnt seem to be widdling more than normal but completely impossible to get a urine sample from her - just had another failed attempt - no matter how discreet I try to be, she knows and goes scuttling under the nearest bush and eyes me with suspicion!) I know I should just wait and see what the vet says but, as always, I start to worry it could be something more serious! Does anyone have any ideas?

I would suspect vaginitis like you.
