Topic Other Boards / Foo / Toe cramps!

Has anyone experienced night cramps where their big toe curls upwards?  I couldn't control my big toe last night and everything I've read about cramps seems to show the toes going down, not up - does anyone know if this is significant?!

i've had leg cramps but never toe ones, if your at all worried why don't you ring the doctors and ask to speak to the nurse as they would be able to help and could avoid seeing the doctor.
bet it's painful, do you suffer from cramps a lot?

I used to get awfull cramp in my feet at night and found that drinking lots of (Good quality) tonic water helped a lot. The cheap ones do not have as much quinine in them and it's the quinine that helps with cramp. I find that "Shhh you know who" is the best Big toes generally curl upwards and the rest of the toes down or outwards!! I have a large glassfull every day and get virtually no problems now.
Hope this helps as I know just how painfull it can be.

I used to suffer from this very badly.  Normally in winter to be honest.  I haven't suffered from it recently so perhaps it's something to do with warmth.  I used to hop around my bedroom most nights & it's agonising trying to bend the toe back the right way.

Suggest socks.
