Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Junior Handling Results - do they count?

Just a quick question.  My friend's son is going to be showing my bitch in Junior Handling classes.  I know nothing really about Junior Handling, but whats just dawned on me is the possibility of my bitch doing well in Breed classes i.e. BOB etc. and then being beaten in JH classes, or vice versa.  Does this mean I am a beaten dog in terms of being able to go into Group or BIS judging?

No, not at all. :)  The only conflict is the timing of the classes, which is why I ended up buying my daughter her own bitch! :)

Hi rach,  junior handling is a class just for the handler.  It is supposed! to be only judged on the handling by the junior of the dog.  The dog however does have to have been entered into the breed class of any show in order to qualify for entry into the JH classes.  Generally JH classes at champ shows are in the afternoon schedule but you will have to check the time in the catalogue and get there on time for the class yourselves as some shows do not call you.  At open shows they can conflict with each other so be prepared. You have to enter before the show as well usually it is on the schedule.

All the best to both you and him.
