Just wondered what health tests they require, There is nothing on the GB website,

My friends are interested in getting one and looking at the Friday Ad,,, Grrr... Got them away for the time being but they just ware desperate for one very soon..All i want them to do i get a pet dog which is healthy...They ahve no interest in showing or anything else with the breed. So anyone who has knowledge of this breed i would appreciate any input..

There's nothing on the KC website either. :-( But please tell them to be very careful, because there are some extremely plausible shysters out there ... the stories I could tell you (from my work at the vet) about badly-bred bichon frises would give you nightmares.

I don't know why they are in a hurry about getting the right dog for them. They were also advised by some other friends tonight about health tests, byb's and puppy farms who are into working gundogs. hoping they will listen to us all.
They were at one point looking for a Bollognese(sp), but due to the low numbers in this country and they say they aren't as hardy as a Bichon they have changed their minds.

I have said that they need to contact the club secretary but doubt they will, so may do that myself.

That is interesting as there are no health tests required for the Bichon.
