In the paper today a hurricane due through tomorrow 50 mph winds. Now knowing the met office can I suggest stockpiling bottled water and get in a generator its usually wrong so we could be in for a bad day.

Oh don't that BILL have a lot to answer for. I mean who allowed BILL to come up our way, he could of just disappeared.
I have plans these next few days and strong winds and rain don't equate into it..
Hope the Met office have got it wrong and we are in for some glorious weather.

Zoe,

Doesn't look too bad as far as wind goes on IOW.

But they are known to get the forecast wrong, so i would prepare for all weather types tom!! lol..

Enjoy your day, not been to IOW in ages, and its not far away either... Let us know what beaches are dog friendly and sandy!!! Could do with a day trip somewhere like that, also not a busy beach!!

re the IOW depends what ferries you are using on the wightlink ones you don't have to go on deck.  The Lymington to Yarmouth one has some seats round the side of the passenger lounge where you can sit with your dog.  If you want to go outside they have a sort of covered area (looks like they knicked a couple of bus shelters) where you can sit and keep dry.  On the portsmouth ferry they have two floors of lounge area dogs can go on the top one.  Not sure about red funnel as we don't tend to use them.

as for beaches Yaverland next to Sandown is good for dogs and I think you are allowed to take dogs on to parts of Ryde beach.
