She is coming up to her 4th week so am taking it as a good sign that she is in whelp(due to be scanned next week),the problem is she is turning her nose up at everything I offer. She has,nt eaten any dry food now for about 4 days so was wondering what you all do if it happens to your dogs.
Forgot to say that she is well in herself, energetic and always ready for a walk.

Just go with it really. If they won't eat their usual food then ring the changes. Ours are raw fed but one of our bitches was fussy more or less throughout so I used to give her tinned food which she would usually eat. After the whelping she ate for England and the pups were all normal weights. Another girl had a wobble round about 3-4 weeks, then ate voraciously until a few days before her due date.

I expect your bitch will be OK. You can always have a vitamin B injection from the vet which can kickstart her appetite if it becomes a serious worry.

I have had this happen with my girl at about 4 weeks and it was just for a few days.  I boiled chicken breasts and rice and white fish and rice and she wolfed it down.  Then i gradually re-introduced her normal food but kept putting in smaller pieces of chicken to keep her interested.  Hopefully this is just a temporary phase with your's and she will have her normal appetite return very soon.  Also she may go off her normal food again at the time she has the pups, and in this case i have gone back to chicken & fish, along with natural probiotic yoghurt (to help settle her tum).  You may have to hand feed her for the first few days after the pups are born.

Thanks for the replies, she has had Sunday lunch today so at least thats a start and I have just given her fish fingers which she wolfed down so I quess its human food till she decides she wants normal food. Will do her boiled chicken and rice tommorrow and then see how things go with her.  I do give my dogs natural yoghurt a couple of times a week anyway but she would,nt even have any yesterday. Just wondered what other people did when their dogs went through this phase.
