Some of you kindly gave advice when I posted about Pixie becoming senile. The house-sitter called this morning to say that she was worse, so we came back, but it was too late. She died quietly curled up on my lap a short time ago. She was a gentle creature, the best of fun. Loved children, 'talking' and playing football. Not the best bred sheltie in the world, but one of the nicest.

So sorry to hear this Sharon, its been a day for bad news. Shes probably met Badger now, theres a post just a little while ago under for leigh or Badger, a lovely little poem, I`m sure you`d like it. You were not too late she was on your lap, the best place for her.

Sharon, I was so sorry to hear about Pixie, but glad that you were with her at the end. I read recently that, when the time comes, it's some comfort if they go 'under their own piece of sky'.
Take care

Sharon,

I think like all dog lovers, I hate that sad piece of news, even if I have never known the dog - but what a wonderful way to go......

Best wishes

Sorry to hear your bad news Sharon :(
It's always so heartbreakingly sad when they go and leave a huge gap in our lives. At least we have our happy memories to bring back smiles. We are always the richer for having known and loved them :)
My thoughts are with you

So sorry to hear your news Sharon, any dog is missed when they leave us, but when they are special as I am sure Pixie was to you then the heartache is trebled.

Take heart from the fact that your little lady waited for her mum to come home before she left, what a special ending for a very special lady.

Love & Hugs

Got me in tears here, I lost my collieX in Jan this year. I was cuddling him at the vets when he went.

Hi Sharon, Hope you are feeling a bit better now. How are Ben and Finn doing?
- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 25.08.02 11:15 UTC
Sis, sorry to say Ben has regressed a mile. For the past couple of years we've have a lovely house sitter, but this years was new. I don't know if she even spoke to to dogs, the dog and cat dishes were clotted with dried on food, the house stank, and even the the cats were half way to being feral. Added to which is a lot of guilt about wee Pix. I doubt that we'll go on holiday again.
- By eoghania [de] Date 25.08.02 11:30 UTC
Sharon,
I'm so sorry about Pixie. At least she was in peace and not in pain when she 'went.' Terrible news about your housesitter. And puir Ben :( I hope things get back in order for you soon. Can I at least say?: welcome back, you were missed. I hope that puts a small smile on your face :) :)
toodles

Oh sis, Im so sorry to hear about the house sitter. Poor Ben must be so glad you are back home. Its not easy I know, but be glad that you were home in time to see little Pixie, it was meant to be that you would be there for her at the end. Are all the other dogs and cats OK now?
