Topic Dog Boards / General / Dog agility jumps from cones

At the training day I was at at the weekend, they were using wonderfuly light and simple training jumps - 2 regular height cones with 3 holes in them and a pole to fit between them. The trainers said they were from something called 'dog needs' but I googled on that and couldn't find anything, and when I google for dog agility I'm getting much more complicated jumps, or half height cones like the ones I use for Rally spirals or sendaways. Can anyone understand my description and point me in the right direction? I only want perhaps 3 jumps just for a bit of fun in the garden, or to take to training. Thanks! :-)

you mean these, matching poles are shown (yellow) on right side of page.
I bought a set in Crufts about 3 years ago from dog needs and couldn't work out why I got a catalogue from this firm......... then I looked thru it ........doh

We had some jumps in the garden a few years ago made from cones. The cones were kindly donated by a neighbour who worked for the water company :) :)

I have a set of these but I got them via a friend, so am not sure of the actual supplier. I will speak to her tomorrow and see if I can find out where they were from.

www.pet-needs.co.uk is probably what you're after.

http://www.pet-needs.co.uk/site/index.php I am confused.  This site only appears to stock collars and leads.  Where are the jumps?

The link to the cones is in my post, Its Newitts that do them NOT petneeds.

I was going to suggest Pet-Needs, they did do them, but when I looked on the website they don't seem to show them. Having said that a lot of the stuff they sell at shows isn't onthe website. Never mind though, you appear to be sorted now.

Although they weren't quite as cheap as I'd hoped - could be in trouble with hubby..... :-D Oh well!

just had another look at their site and found this http://www.newitts.com/product/IT005790/XLR8_Agility_Hurdle_Set_30cm.htm
which is the set I bought and it is on offer at the moment so may keep hubby a bit happier.........or just don't tell him what you are buying :-D

I saw those but they look awfully low for dog jumps, I've gone for cones that are about the height of our sofa, which they can all jump onto easily, so the middle and highest holes should be about right. :-)
