Right this might be load of silly questions!

I have been thinking of getting an affix.
I would more than likely get the affix on my and my other halfs name.
We have one girl that is only on my name, would I be able to register her puppies under affix that is on both of our names?

Also, I'm thinking of importing a girl, she would be jointly owned with another person who lives abroad.
If all goes well, I would have a litter out of her and the litter would need to be registered under my affix.
Again, could the pups go under my affix and me as a breeder even tho the bitch is owned in joint names?
or would the bitch need to be moved totally to my name(or me and my OH) in order to register the pups?

What happens if I marry my other half and take his name? or if keep my own and add his to mine so my name would still be same with a little added bit(his name)?
Am I right thinking I would need to notify Kennel club to change the affix owners names?

What about puppies we would have kept from our own breeding, are they all automatically registered as owned by the breeder?
Is the wording owned by the breeder or does it give our names(e.g Ms A &Mr B)? if it is owned by the breeder I assume the ownership details would automatically update when the details of the affix were changed?

I'm not sure if I make any sense, I have totally confused myself at least :)

Hi Noora, in short, if you have an affix (Kennel Name) in joint names, you must transfer your bitch into the same joint ownership before you breed from her otherwise you can't register the puppies with the kennel name. I think that also goes some way to answering some of your other questions too.

To use the kennel name the dogs must be registered in the same names as the affix. There's nothing to stop you from then transferring them into the names of whoever you like afterwards, but it's all money.

If you get married you do have to inform the KC of your change of name.

You can also do a loan of bitch agreement.

Only if you choose to use your partner's name ;-)

One more reason to keep my own name :)
I have thought about taking his on top of mine but I would then spend my whole life spelling my monster name as my name is Finnish and his is just weird with a double C in it :)...
