this is probably a stupid question but i dont know, my dog has a stud book number, at the time i didnt add a kennel name of mine to hers as i was unsure i wanted to breed at the time.
if i was to have a litter from her could i still put a my kennel name on the puppies?

If you have a registered KC affix, then you can register the pups under it, however you cannot get it added to your dogs name once the stud book number has been granted

If you want to add a affix to your litter you have to apply to the kennel club. It's been years since i did mine but i think you need 3 choices listing them in preference and back then it took about 3 months to go through. You have to pay ,think it's about £20 annually to keep it.
The affix must also be registered in the same name as the bitch, ie.mrs. or mr. and mrs.

If you are planning a litter i wouldn't leave it too long as it takes a while although may be quicker now.
