Green Stars are National Champion Certificates (or known as CAC' s in other FCI countries.) Each National KC under FCI nominates how many Champion Certificates are required for the National title. In Ireland 7 Green Stars are requires to claim the Irish champion title.
CACIB are International Champion Certificates and are available at designated "International" shows in all FCI countries. These are issued in addition to the national champion certificate - to claim and International Ch title you need to win 4 CACIBs in minimum of 3 different FCI countries. Until recently to have an Int Ch title you needed to be a Ch in the counrty in which the dog lives, earlier this year the rules have has been changed. Now even if a UK based dog is not a Ch in UK it may still claim an Int Ch title from FCI if it has won the required CACIB's. It was this change that lead to KC refusing to acknowldege the Int Ch title from 2009. You can win it, claim the title from the FCI and you MUST count any CACIB's won for class eligibility at Uk show BUT you cannot put the title on your entry forms. This particular rule does NOT apply to any National titles a dog wins in FCI countries.
