Not sure if this is of any interest to anybody but Oxford (Kidlington) Airport is now approved for the import of dogs. :-)

Ooh wonder if they have a weight or size restriction to go into the cabin?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.08.09 08:33 UTC
Usually yes.  I have had two pups go with new owners in cabin where the airline allowed and at 8 weeks strictly speaking they were at the maximum (probably over) size/weight allowed.  One flew to Spain and other to USA.

It is down to the airline if they allow dogs in the cabin, but only applies to outgoing, as coming flying into the UK the dogs have to come in as cargo.

Finair and BA serving Finland allows pups to travel in the cabin with the owner.

I've just sent a pup to Finland and the only problem is the size restrictions for the regulation size carry box allowed in the cabin.
A 12 week CKCS could only just squeeze in and even then she had to pay £40 weight excess.
The cabin staff BA were great however and turned a blind eye to the pup on her lap :-)

Elkhound pups at 8 weeks average 10lb (have had them up to 13lb) so a bit of blind eye turning was needed.

When I traveled in Finland with my bitch in 2006 it was so relaxed, though being adult she had to go in the hold in her vari-kennel, you just picked her up at baggage claim.

It was returning with her that was the needless nightmare.
