I am considering buying a puppy, medium size breed.  Breeders of this type of dog usually have hips and eyes of the parents tested and the price for the puppy on average is £750.00.  The breeder I am going to visit does not test hips and eyes, so the price is £600.00.  Can anybody tell me please, if the price is right?

I would think the last think to worry about would be the price.

Firstly why risk buying a pup from un tested parents? The breed are screened for a reason and it is false economy save £100 and end up paying out thousands for Hip or Eye problems.

Secondly why encourage this kind of risky breeding?

no- the £750 tested dogs are much better value. testing and showing and researching lines etc cost a bomb and so the pups cost more in an attempt to break even. the £600 are charging for what exactly? not the tests anyway
