Topic Dog Boards / General / Collar tags
- By Boysee [gb] Date 10.08.09 12:21 UTC
Does anyone know where I can buy the barrel type collar tags from. I need 7 for our holiday in October :-)
Have done a search but only the flat type or ones that fix on their collars come up.

Ebay.

Just an example:

Good idea to put your holiday address and nearest vet on them.

You're probably more 'with it' than me but just a warning - I bought 2 Identitags [great price and good quality] as recommended on here.  BUT I hadn't completely thought it through - thier adjustable nylon collars didn't have an open end - they're a sort of loop system so there was nowhere to slip on the collar tags.  I've had to buy new collars to fit the tags LOL.
My son also pointed out 'What is the point of engraving the back of the tags when they can't be seen?  I suggested that RSPCA etc would know to look there.  What does anyone else think?

Me with it?!!  I hadnt even thought about the 'open end'.  will have to have a re think.  thanks for that.

My dog's tags have ID on reverse on the front Simples ;-)

how about these ones http://indigocollartags.com/tags.htm they do different tags to fit different collars and they are guaranteed for life - mine have theirs on the adjustable collar they wear for agility - they also wear it when they go in the sea, they've had them for years and they are still shiney and very easy to read.

Moonmaiden = Not sure what you mean by 'simples' but think you mean all the basic details.  I didn't explain myself properly before - I put all the details as suggested on here, on the front of the tag [great info thanks everyone] and extra details such as son's mobile, vet no, microchipped etc on the reverse.  They have microchip tags too - I think I may be a bit obsessive here!

> 'simples'

LOL as in the meerkaat advert ;-)

The tags my dogs have have my contact details on the front plus the wording "ID on reverse" so that if anyone finds the dog( or just the collar)they know there is more stuff engraved on the back

have a look at ebay, i've bought from there in the past

Never mind the Meerkat, I thinkm it's me that's 'simples'.  Great idea about ID on back.

By the way, the wording ideas I got from other posts on here not this thread if anyone wants to search there's lots of great info.
