Hi all,
Me again! God since I joined this forum as a member I'm never off it!
I am hoping someone might be able to help as this is driving me mad.....
Me and my OH are taking the three dogs up to see my gran in Scotland, but as she is getting on a bit we won't stay at hers as I think the three might be too much for her, they don't do naughty things they are just a bit boisterous.
We are looking to go around the 14/09/09 for 4 nights, and we need somewhere that will allow us to take all three dogs, don't mind if there is a charge for them.
We are looking for a cottage preferably or something of that nature (self catering/serviced) around the Ayrshire / Dumfrieshire area, could possibly go a little further north but not too far.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Thanks lincolnimp I have just had a look at the site, if I don't find anything on there I am stuck I guess as plenty of choice! Thanks again.

If you Google 'rental cottage' and the location you'll get a list of conventional holiday cottage companies. If you put an actual town or village in you'll often get some self advertisers where the owners manage their own cottages.
We've spent quite a bit of time looking at self catering cottages in Scotland recently too and found that a surprising number of owners are willing to be flexible about dogs. If you explain your dog management (not on furniture, bring their own fleeces, crates etc) some will agree to extra dogs even when they don't advertise it. Just avoid the NO PETS ones!!
One of the things you might find though is that September is a very popular time to holiday in Scotland so you may not have the full range of cottages. Good luck

I find
this website good - cottages above the average, but mostly reasonably priced, and a lot of them are dog friendly.

We know a couple that bought a bernese from us and they emailed us a few months ago to say they had bought a cottage/lodge type thing that they are going to let out near Dumfries. It is only has one bedroom though (dont know if that is big enough for you) and they dont mind dogs going. If you havent found anything yet let me know and I will give their phone number.
Hi all,
Thanks for your help with this, its appreciated, Fifi please could you give me their number?
Thanks.

Look in the back of 'Your Dog' as there are holiday cottages all over the country in there .

The website for the lodge is www.swallowlodge.co.uk. This lets you see the cottage and Lena's phone number is on the contact page. If they ask tell them Jack & Fiona told you about it.
