Hello - advice please!

My 12 week old dobe pup has had a walnut-sized soft lump on top of her head, between her ears, for about a week now.  Is this likely to be a haematoma and if so, how quickly will it resolve? No other symptoms.

Vets are unsure and want her back in a few days to check.

sorry never seen this before but hopefully someone will come along thats seen this before.
at least the vet wants to follow it up and from what you've said i presume  their not too worried.
let us know if you find out more.

Check its not a sting! my cocker got too close to a wasp and have a lump on his nose a dose of piriton took it down in about 48 hours, he was sorry for himself for a while there though.

I have dobes and ive had this lump before on my pups its on the occiput bone as you have said inbetween the ears.

This lump normally comes up if they have been playing ruff with their siblings or other dogs,it can be quite hard or soft and can be the size of a golf ball,i would not worry about it too much it will eventually go down after a while but if you are worried go to the vets for a check up,your pup may look odd for a while,i call they alien head or egg head.

The vet is now pretty confident it is a haematoma after all, and that it should resolve in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, alienhead just about sums her up, JJ!
