I am the secretary of an all breeds open show society and for the last couple of years we have put on "Evenings With"-we have had speakers on dog showing/judging/canine reprodution.

It raises money for our club-we need as we can now only have one open show a year- and keeps us afloat as a society.

We have a good attendance for these evenings and the feedback is always possitive.

The question I now want to ask is has anyone got ideas for talks plus a person that can give the talk. Does not have to be showing any subject on dogs and their activities.

Any feedback greatly received.

Thanks

Our training club had a fascinating talk and demonstration from a member of the Urban Search and Rescue Unit who brought his two Springer Spaniels with him. The talk was very interesting and was followed by a demonstration by each dog, one very experienced dog and the other was a youngster in training. Google will help you find a local unit - they are a part of the Fire Service.

We have also had talks from a police dog handler, drug sniffer dog handler and  a veterinary  nurse which were memorable :-)
